In 2003, my wife Vicky was diagnosed with Acquired Factor VIII Inhibitor. Internet research at that time revealed to me no positive outlook for anyone with Acquired Factor VIII Inhibitor.

At that time I did not share these very disheartening results of my web searches with Vicky.

On a very positive note, I must add that as of the date of this comment (January 17, 2009) Vicky has been doing well. On October 6th, 2003 her Acquired Factor VIII Inhibitor level was at zero! Her Factor VIII Level had risen from an all time low of 4 to a very respectable 190.

Subsequent blood tests for this revealed no further Acquired Factor VIII Inhibitor, and these blood tests became less and less frequent.

Vicky is no longer tested for this, no longer sees her hematologist, and things are going much sweeter than I ever anticipated.
